LES RAPIDES FONT L’ACQUISITION DE SIX NOUVEAUX JOUEURS
Les Rapides de Grand-Sault ont conclu plusieurs transactions lundi en journée, dont deux fois impliquant les Tigres de Campbellton.
Grand-Sault a échangé aux Tigres l’attaquant de 20 ans Kyle Foreman ainsi que les droits sur le gardien de but Dekon Randell-Snow et des considérations futures.
Foreman a disputé deux saisons avec les Rapides, récoltant un total de 27 points en seulement 29 matchs de joués. Randall-Snow, natif de St.John’s (Terre-Neuve), était pour sa part un choix de 8e ronde des Rapides lors du repêchage de la LHM en 2020.
Lors d’un autre échange impliquant les deux mêmes formations, les Rapides ont cédé aux Tigres le défenseur de 20 ans Zac Arsenault ainsi qu’un choix conditionnel de 8e ronde lors du repêchage de 2022. En retour, Grand-Sault obtient les services du défenseur William Théberge ainsi que l’attaquant Ben Alchorn. Les Rapides obtiennent également de la part des Tigres un choix de première ronde en 2022 et des considérations futures.
Arsenault a disputé un total de 95 parties en trois saisons avec les Rapides, accumulant 44 points à sa fiche. On se souviendra surtout de lui pour sa présence calme et rassurante à la ligne bleue ainsi que son jeu physique.
Pour ce qui est de Théberge, il se joint aux Rapides après avoir disputé 6 rencontres avec les Tigres cette saison. Alchorn, qui n’est âgée que de 16 ans, est un produit des Vitos de St-Jean au niveau midget AAA.
Les Rapides ont transigé à nouveau avec les Tigres, obtenant l’attaquant Joakim Bergeron. Grand-Sault obtient également les droits sur les attaquants Nicholas Brennan et Dominic Deschênes, ainsi qu’un choix conditionnel de deuxième ronde en 2022 et des considérations futures.
Joakim Bergeron est très heureux de joindre les Rapides et il a bien hâte d’arriver en ville. Ce dernier a marqué 14 buts et a récolté 12 mentions d’aide en 22 parties cette saison pour les Tigres.
Pour ce qui est de Nicholas Brennan, il évolue présentement avec la formation de Tilton School aux États-Unis. Il est un jeune homme de 17 ans originaire de Grafton, au Nouveau-Brunswick.
Dominic Deschênes, originaire de St-Joseph dans le comté de Madawaska, est âgé de 16 ans seulement et évolue à l’île-du-Prince-Édouard avec Mount Academy. Il est considéré un leader auprès de la formation insulaire.
Les Rapides ont également effectué une transaction lundi avec les Lumberjacks de South-Shore, obtenant les droits du joueur de centre Nicola Laforge. Ce dernier a disputé 19 rencontres cette saison avec les Seadogs de St-Jean de la LHJMQ, inscrivant 2 buts et récoltant 2 mentions d’aide pour 4 points.
En retour, les Lumberjacks obtiennent de Grand-Sault l’attaquant Shane Delaney ainsi qu’un choix de 5e ronde lors du repêchage de 2023.
Les Rapides désirent souhaiter la meilleure des chances à Shane avec sa nouvelle formation. L’on est aussi très heureux d’accueillir Nico dans la famille des Rapides.

RAPIDS ADD SIX NEW PLAYERS TO THE TEAM
The Grand Falls Rapids completed several transactions on Monday, three times involving the Campbellton Tigers.
The Rapids traded 20-year-old forward Kyle Foreman and the rights to goaltender Dekon Randell-Snow to the Tigers along with future considerations.
Foreman played two seasons for the Rapids, collecting a total of 27 points in only 29 games. Randall-Snow, a native of St.John’s (Newfoundland) was an 8th round pick by the Rapids in the 2020 MHL draft.
In another deal with the Tigers, the Rapids sent 20-year old defenseman Zac Arsenault along with a conditional 8th round draft pick in exchange for defenseman William Theberge, prospect Ben Alchorn, a 2022 first round draft pick and future considerations.
Arsenault played in 95 games with the Rapids in three seasons, picking up a total of 44 points. He will be remembered mostly by his calm presence on the blue line as well as his physicality.
As for Theberge, he comes over to the Rapids after playing in 6 games with the Tigers this season. Alchorn, 16 years old, is a St.John Vitos’ product at the midget elite level.
Campbellton also makes another move with Grand Falls, trading forward Joakim Bergeron to the Rapids. Grand Falls also obtains from the Tigers the rights to forwards Nicholas Brennan and Dominic Deschênes, as well as a conditional second-round pick in the 2022 draft and future considerations.
Joakim Bergeron is very excited to be joining the Rapids and he is looking forward to arriving in Grand Falls. Bergeron scored 14 goals and added 12 assists in 22 games with the Tigers this season.
As for Nicholas Brennan, the 17-year-old Grafton (NB) native is a promising forward who is currently playing at Tilton School in the United States.
Dominic Deschênes, who is from nearby St.Joseph (NB), is a 16-year-old forward playing in a leadership role at Mount Academy in Charlottetown (PEI).
The Rapids also acquired from the South Shore Lumberjacks on Monday the rights to centreman Nicola Laforge who played in 19 games this season with the St.John Seadogs of the QMJHL, scoring 2 goals while adding 2 assists for 4 points.
In return, Grand Falls sends Shane Delaney and a 5th round pick in the 2023 draft.
The organization wishes Shane all the best with South Shore and welcomes Nico to the Rapids.
