RAPIDS HOLD THEIR ANNUAL TEAM BANQUET

The Rapids wrapped-up their 2023-2024 season last weekend with their annual team banquet. The event, which was held on Saturday night, saw a total of 12 awards that were handed out to deserving players.

Goaltender Adam Lecours with 13 victories this season and a goals-against average of 3.47, received three awards as the most valuable player to his team, rookie of the year and for having the best points total in the three stars selection.

Defenseman Will Morrison is also the recipient of three awards. He was named the Rapids’ top defenseman, received the award for best community leader and received the Reggie Guay award for perseverance.

Forward Jérémy Boulanger, who finished the season with a record of 15 goals and 34 assists for 49 points, won the award for top scorer and was also named the team’s top forward.

Defenseman Raphaël Denis was the unsung hero while Jonah Leard won the award for the most improved player.

Ty Hunter won the top player/student award.

Forward Marcellus Francis was the recipient of the fans’ choice award.

Now that the season has come to an end, the Rapids’ organization will now focus next on the upcoming draft.

Note also that the team has only three players not returning for the 2024-2025 campaign due to age eligibility. Hopefully, everyone will be back in the lineup and strive for a playoff run as the majority of the teams from the Eastlink North division will be in reconstructive mode.
