RAPIDS COMPLETE A TRADE WITH THE TRURO BEARCATS
The Grand Falls Rapids have completed a trade with the Truro Bearcats, acquiring forward BEN DIAMOND and goaltender FREDERIC PLOURDE, as well as a 3rd round pick in the 2024 draft and future considerations.
In return, the Rapids send to the Bearcats forward CARTER McCLUSKEY and goaltenders ISAAC SPARROW and JOEY HAWCO.
Diamond, a 20-year-old Ontario native, played in 53 games with the Bearcats last season (playoffs included), compiling a record of 24 goals and 18 assists for 42 points.
Plourde, a 2002 born player, is from nearby St.Leonard NB. He played in 15 games last season for Truro, posting a 3.26 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage.
McCluskey played in 16 games for the Rapids over the course of three seasons, scoring 9 goals. Last season, he played in the QMJHL with the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
As for Sparrow and Hawco, both were at the Rapids’ training camp just recently and took part in exhibition games.

Les Rapides de Grand-Sault viennent de compléter un échange avec les Bearcats de Truro. Ils obtiennent l’attaquant BEN DIAMOND et le gardien de but FRÉDÉRIC PLOURDE, ainsi qu’un choix de 3e ronde lors du repêchage de 2024 et des considérations futures.
En retour, les Rapides cèdent aux Bearcats l’attaquant CARTER McCLUSKEY et les gardiens ISAAC SPARROW et JOEY HAWCO.
Originaire de l’Ontario, Diamond (20 ans) a disputé 53 rencontres la saison dernière avec les Bearcats (séries incluses), compilant un dossier de 24 buts et 18 mentions d’aide pour 42 points.
Pour ce qui est de Frédéric Plourde, ce dernier en est lui aussi à sa dernière saison d’éligibilité au niveau junior A. Il a gardé le filet pour 15 parties avec Truro la saison dernière, affichant une moyenne de buts alloués de 3,26 et un pourcentage d’efficacité de ,902.
McCluskey avait pour sa part disputé 16 matchs pour les Rapides au cours des trois dernières campagnes, inscrivant 9 buts à sa fiche. La saison dernière, il a joué dans la LHJMQ avec les Sea Dogs de Saint John et les Screaming Eagles du Cape Breton.
Sparrow et Hawco avaient chacun pris part au camp d’entraînement des Rapides cette saison, œuvrant devant le filet lors de matchs hors concours.
L’organisation des Rapides souhaite la bienvenue à Ben et Frédéric et désire souhaiter la meilleure des chances à Carter, Isaac et Joey avec leur nouvelle équipe.
