The Grand Falls Rapids have traded the rights of 20-year-old goaltender GIO DiMATTIA to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers of the MHL.
In return, the Rapids obtain a 2025 6th round draft pick and future considerations.
In three seasons with the Rapids, DiMattia was credited with 17 victories in 51 games. Last season, he played in the QMJHL with Cape Breton and Shawinigan.
The Rapids’ organization wishes Gio all the best of luck in his future hockey career and would like to thank him for his services rendered to the team. He will be remembered as one of the top netminders to have played with the Rapids over the course of the last 6 seasons.
