RAPIDS MAKE NINE DRAFT PICK SELECTIONS

The Maritime Junior Hockey League Annual Entry Draft was held Saturday June 20th in Campbellton. The Rapids made a total of nine selections, including two players in the first round.

Grand Falls drafted a total of six forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender.

With the 11th overall pick in the draft, the Rapids selected BODEN MCFADDEN, a 16-year-old forward from Moncton NB. Playing for the Rothesay Netherwood U-18 team last season, McFadden earned a total of 23 points with 4 goals and 19 assists. He is listed at 5’10”, 165 lbs and shoots from the left side.

Also, with the first-round pick, defenseman SAMUEL WILLIAMS was selected 12th overall by the Rapids. As a 16-year-old from St.John’s (NL), Williams played 37 games (playoffs included) last season for the U-18 AAA East Coast Blizzard, earning a record of 4 goals and 15 assists for 19 points.

Round 6- pick no.63: EVAN STEVENS (forward)

Team: Saint John Knights U-16 AAA

 

Round 7- pick no.82: BRANDON GILLARD (forward)

Team: Atlantic Coast Academy 15’s

 

Round 10- pick no.115: HUDSON ADAMS (forward)
