RAPIDS DROP A 4-3 DECISION TO THE RED WINGS

FREDERICTON Tyson Snow scored two goals, including the game winner at the 8-minute mark of the third period, giving the Fredericton Red Wings a 4-3 victory over the Rapids on Saturday night at the Grant-Harvey Centre.

It was a hard-fought battle until the very end as Grand Falls came close to tying the score late in the third with an extra man on the ice.Down by two goals early in the game, Greg Lelands squad came back to tie the score before the end of the period.

After being outshot 18-8 in the opening frame, the Rapids sent 34 shots during the second and third periods combined.

Tyson Snow scored his first goal of the night for Fredericton with only 57 seconds played after the first puck drop. It came following a rebound in front of the net, beating Rapidsgoalkeeper Adam Lecours. Jackson Shaddick gave the Red Wings a two-goal lead at 4:59.

Brayden Campbell cut the margin for the Rapids following a rush from his own zone. His wrist shot beat netminder Zachary Bridgeo in the top corner of the net.

Defenseman Raphael Michaud tied the score at 13:37, also on a great rush from the neutral zone. The score was tied 2-2 after twenty minutes of play.

Tyler Totten scored Frederictons third goal at 7:33 of the middle frame after the Rapids had spent some quality time in the opposing end.

Tyson Snow added his second tally of the nightat 8:09 of the third period as the Red Wings took a 4-2 lead.

The Rapids came back however with a power play goal at 16:24 when Jonah Leard took control of a loose puck in the crease.

However, the Red Wings defense held strongin the final minutes, denying the Rapids who suffered a third straight loss to open the season.

The Rapids went 1 for 5 on the power play, including a 4-minute man advantage to open up the final frame.
