MATHIEU MARTIN – GENERAL MANAGER

The Grand Falls Rapids’ organization have decided to make a change to the general manager position. Moving forward, Danny Braun will be replaced by MATHIEU MARTIN, a 31-year-old well known to the region for his hockey experience.

Martin is currently an assistant coach with the Moncton Flyers AAA team in the NB/PEU U-18 league. He also was an assistant coach with the Edmundston Blizzard during the 2017-18 season and an assistant coach with the Amherst Ramblers during the 2019-20 campaign.

As a player, he suited up as a defenseman with the Dieppe Commandos of the MHL, the University of Moncton Blue Eagles and the St.Basile As at the senior level.

The Fredericton native has a vast knowledge of the young hockey prospects available in the province. He will certainly be an asset to the organization as he brings his experience from the coaching level to the general manager position.

Team president Marc Dubé is looking forward to what lies ahead for the Rapids’ organization.

“The change should be beneficial for the organization. However, I would like to thank Danny for his devotion and professionalism during his 7 years with the Rapids”.

Dubé also noted that some changes may be made to the team in the upcoming days as the trade deadline approaches.
