GREG LELAND AND RAPIDS PART WAYS

Through a common agreement, the Grand Falls Rapids have announced that they will not be renewing the contract of head coach Greg Leland for the upcoming 2026-2027 MHL season.

In his fourth season behind the bench, Leland led his team to a playoff appearance last March following a first-place finish in the Eastlink North division standings. It was the first time the Rapids made a playoff appearance since their arrival in Grand Falls for the 2018-2019 campaign.

Leland is very thankful for his opportunity of coaching the Rapids. In a statement, he mentions:

“I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Marc Dube, Marco Gagnon and the rest of the Grand Falls Rapids executive and organization for the privilege of coaching the Rapids for the last 4 years. Their support was unwavering and I’m grateful for the positive experience I had in Grand Falls.

I’m leaving on a high note as we were able to not only make the playoffs for the first time in the history of the franchise, but finish in first place in the North division.

With the support of the investors group, executive and the strong work of Mathieu Martin, the organization is in good hands”.

The Rapids organization would like to thank Leland for his contribution to the team and wishes him all the best of success in his future plans.
